Yo Te Esperaba

As a cultural organizer, Ale has been partnering with Donkeysaddle Projects to tell her story in an immersive documentary style theatrical project, with the goal of activating more families and community members to take action against deportations and incarceration. The performance piece, called Yo Te Esperaba, exposes intersections between im/migrant and reproductive justice, visualizing a world where people exercise autonomy over their bodies, production, sexuality, and lives. Yo Te Esperaba is a testament to community power, family love, a crucially needed liberation narrative, and an urgent call to action.  Ale is asking her community to help her raise $15,000, half of which will be used to pay her immigration and criminal lawyers so that they can continue to fight for Ale to stay in her home, and half of which will be used to continue work on Yo Te Esperaba. You can contribute here, either with a one-time, or monthly donation.
